Sheldon Keefe openly criticizes Ilya Samsonov
For a long time now, one of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ most concerning issues has been before the net.
Despite the fact that we by and large have generally excellent normal seasons, we never appear to have a genuine starter with incredible consistency between the posts.
It’s been a carousel before the Leafs’ net for quite a long while at this point, with beginning goaltender changes happening habitually.
Indeed, this season is no exemption for Toronto’s well established pattern.
We don’t have a beginning goalie, and what’s more terrible, we have one of the NHL’s most obviously terrible goalies in Ilya Samsonov.
In any event, taking all goalies who have played no less than one game in the NHL this season Samsonov is in the lower part of the basement at 82แต position out of 85 with a .862 save rate.
As it turns out, after one more extremely normal execution from Samsonov yesterday against the Columbus Blue Coats, the Maple Leafs lead trainer wasn’t modest about condemning his goalie’s work.
As Keefe makes sense of, guarded botches are the more recognizable when you get no recoveries from your goaltender, and it showed the previous evening against the Blue Coats.
Samsonov had a save percentage of.714 and gave up six goals on 21 shots.
Even if the Leafs are in good shape for the playoffs, this is a problem that is very concerning in Toronto, and Sheldon Keefe is aware of that. It is appalling.
The Leafs’ lead trainer rushed to send a reasonable message to his senior supervisor in a post-game press preparation against the Blue Coats.
“This is the NHL, we really want saves, we really want focuses and we really want wins. Thus, I’m certain Tre (Brad Treliving) will think about all choices.” – Sheldon Keefe
Keefe clarifies that he really wants assistance before the net as he no longer appears to believe in Samsonov, who has permitted 21 objectives in his last four games.
With the Ilya Samonsov period reaching a conclusion, the Leafs will likely attempt to obtain another goaltender, considering that Joseph Woll is as yet harmed and has little NHL experience.
Will the Leafs be checking out at the Montreal Canadiens three-way?
