Tribulation in Golf world as Golf legend Jack Nicklaus in tears (!) as he makes special announcement
When the Korn Ferry tour came into Norman, so did 18-time Major Champ, Jack Nicklaus and I got the chance to sit down with the all-time great to talk about the state of the game and his post-career impact on the game!
“Hard to really explain what the difference is, but the whole game, not only the tournament part of it, but even the amateur part of the game, has changed dramatically,” Nicklaus said.
After a historic career, Jack continued to push the game forward. While he wasn’t winning at Augusta, and pushing the limits of what fans thought were possible on the course. Now he is working hard behind the scenes to further the game of golf!
“And I’ve seen what it does and how it helps these kids,” Jack shared. “Barbara and I have been blessed to be able to be in a position to be able to do that and help others through our platform.”
He continued, “So, we’re fully committed. We love it. And it’s, uh, it’s been a blessing in our lives. It’s given us, us focus in our later years to be able to help others.”
While he will always be partial to the game, he emphasizes the importance of sports and other activities and encourages being the best you can regardless of the game or career.
“Whatever sports you want to play or whatever you do in life. You know, you want to do it because you like it and you really love being part of it,” he said. “I mean if you want to be a baked cookies, then you got to be the best cookie maker there is.”
