Strong Statement on Bills QB Josh Allen from the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator.
Possibly the most thrilling game in Week 4 is between the 2-1 Buffalo Bills and the 3-0 Miami Dolphins.
Vic Fangio, the defensive coordinator for the Dolphins, is aware that it will be difficult to contain a mobile quarterback like Josh Allen, but Buffalo’s defense has its work cut out for them after Miami thrashed the Denver Broncos in a historic 70-20 victory.
While coaching the Broncos, Fangio saw the 6-foot-5, 237-pound quarterback decimate his defense.
This is Fangio’s first season in Miami. Allen completed 15 of 25 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Bills’ 20-3 victory over Denver in 2019.
Allen threw for 392 yards, two passing touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns in Buffalo’s 48-19 victory over the Broncos in 2020.
At a press conference on September 28, Fangio referred to that previous game as “one of many good days he’s had in his career, and we were the victims of one then.”.
He is an excellent player.
He’s one of the few quarterbacks in the league who can support an entire team using both of his arms and legs.
And it’s hard to stop him, too.
“.
He’s challenging to play against, said Fangio.
There isn’t just one way to portray him, in my opinion.
There isn’t just one way to play a great quarterback, or else everyone would do it, isn’t it?
“He’s hard to handle, and you always have to defend two plays: the play they call in the huddle and the play he can create on the fly.
The typical quarterback is not him.
He’s tough with his movement, size, strength, and bravery.
He’s really great.
“.
A “Lot of Respect” for Josh Allen, according to Tua Tagovailoa.
Prior to their Week 4 matchup, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa only had positive things to say about Allen.
Tagovailoa tallied 309 yards and four touchdowns despite only participating in one snap in the fourth quarter last week.
On September 27, Tagovailoa told reporters, “He’s a great guy. Josh is enormous.
Josh is a big guy. His arm is strong, though.
Early in his career, he made a name for himself in the league.
He plays the game very well, and I have a lot of respect for the way he interacts with the players on that side of the ball.
I do, however, have a great deal of respect for Josh.
The competition for this year’s MVP is fierce between the two quarterbacks.
For 1,024 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions so far this season, Tagovailoa has completed 71.3% of his passes.
Although Allen had a rocky start in the Bills’ Week 1 loss to the New York Jets, he has since turned things around.
He has completed 72.7% of his passes for 728 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions over the course of three weeks.
The Dolphins’ offense was described as “explosive” by Sean McDermott.
Sean McDermott, head coach and defensive coordinator of the Bills, was very aware that defeating the Dolphins would not be an easy task when he spoke to reporters on September 27.
As I mentioned with the run and the pass, “They’ve exposed people in a lot of ways,” McDermott said.
The Dolphins have one of the best backfields in the NFL and two of the NFL’s fastest receivers in Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.
They’re really excellent.
They live up to the hype.
They’re explosive,” declared McDermott.
The ball can be scored by anyone who touches it. A 2-yard run results in a gash and a crease.
Likewise with the passing game.
Coach (Mike) McDaniel does an excellent job moving players around and generating various offensive schemes.
A lot of it.
“.
Jordan Poyer’s injury means that the Bills will be without one of their All-Pro safety tandems, but Taylor Rapp is ready to fill in.
“I think the coaches developed a great game plan for this week.
Looking forward to the chance, Rapp said, according to The Buffalo News.
Although the former Rams safety has the utmost respect for Poyer, “I’m looking forward to going out there.
Of course, making money off of it.
“.
