Colorado football’s game against the USC Trojans was interesting, but they simply ran out of time to complete a wild comeback, losing to their Pac-12 rivals by a score of 48-41.
The Colorado offensive coordinator made a series of strange running plays with the ball deep in USC territory late in the fourth quarter, which contributed to the fact that they ran out of time.
What’s worse is that because they were without timeouts, the Buffaloes effectively used up much more of their available playing time.

After the defeat, Lewis was roundly mocked on social media by the incensed Colorado football fans.

With 5:58 left in the fourth quarter, the Buffaloes called two back-to-back run plays.
The first play ended in a sack, and the second only resulted in a gain of four yards.

Lewis was saved by Colorado football’s star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who made a spectacular throw to convert the ensuing third down and then threw a touchdown pass to Jimmy Horn Jr. to bring Colorado football within a touchdown.

Unfortunately, the Buffaloes had only 1:43 seconds left to accomplish their goal.

Since they were unable to successfully execute the onside kick, USC football simply knelt the ball to end the game.
