Colorado’s Deion Sanders Misses Weekly Coach’s Show With Health Issue

Deion Sanders from Colorado had to miss the weekly Coach’s Show due to a health issue.

Thursday’s airing of the Colorado football coaches’ radio show was notable for the absence of head coach Deion Sanders.

According to the Denver Post, Sanders, 56, was absent from this week’s program ahead of a matchup against Arizona State on Saturday due to health issues, according to university officials.
According to Buffs Beat, Coach Prime had a “bad reaction to his immune IVs” and was under the weather when assistant head coach Gary Harrell filled in.

The amputation of two of Sanders’ toes, which occurred in 2021 while he was coaching at Jackson State, has contributed to a number of Sanders’ health problems in recent years.
He missed the Pac-12 media day in July so he could get a blood clot removed.

It goes without saying that Sanders’s presence—or lack thereof—was felt by Colorado on Thursday.

We had a team meeting this morning, and any time he isn’t there, we know something is wrong.
He doesn’t miss much,” Harrell remarked, according to Buffs Beat.
“I went to check on him, so I did.
We continued the meeting because he wasn’t feeling well. He spent the entire time at practice, though.
He simply isn’t at full strength at the moment, but he’s making an effort to fix that.

Sanders may not be fully recovered, but Harrell and the Buffaloes still anticipate having him on the sidelines for Saturday’s game against the Sun Devils.

At 6:30 p.m., Colorado (3-2), hoping to bounce back from consecutive losses to Oregon and USC, will travel to Tempe to play Arizona State.
