Magic Johnson Sends Ron Rivera, Washington Commanders Serious Message After Loss To Chicago Bears

After the Washington Commanders’ loss to the Chicago Bears, Magic Johnson sends Ron Rivera and the Bears a serious message.

Following a humiliation on Thursday Night Football, Washington Commanders co-owner Earvin Magic Johnson wrote to the team and its head coach.
Home against a Chicago Bears team that had dropped 14 straight games, the Commanders were thrashed 40-20.

Ron Rivera, the head coach of the Commanders, was under pressure going into the season.
The 2-3 Commanders blew a chance to quickly recover from a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4 and it’s getting warmer.

The commanders in Washington receive a message from Magic Johnson.

Johnson used X to explain the defeat after the game. Johnson was not pleased with the Commanders’ first-half effort given that they were down 27-3 at the beginning of the third quarter.

The Commanders’ performance last night lacked any fervor or intensity. We didn’t play hard in the first half and were trailing 27-3 at the break.
We eventually lost 40-20 because the hole was too big to climb out of.

We lost 40-20 because it was too deep a hole for us to climb out of.

Johnson’s message was unambiguous. When facing the Bears, the team was uninspired.

After the mini-bye, Rivera’s team needs a spark to get them going again.
In Weeks 6 and 7, the Commanders take on the Atlanta Falcons and the New York Giants, respectively.
The Commanders should and must win those games.

Will Rivera be able to make this group more intense?
