Mike Florio criticizes Kirk Cousins

For taking Tuesday off and attending a Twins game, Mike Florio chastises Kirk Cousins.

“Do you want to be great?”.

How disrespectful of you, Kirk Cousins, to spend Tuesday taking your young sons to a baseball game!

You’re a sports robot who only cares about winning, Kirk Cousins, so how dare you spend time with your family instead of ignoring them?

Shame on you Kirk Cousins for taking your kids to a playoff baseball game, enjoying their childhoods, and being a good parent.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, a devoted Vikings fan, may have finally had enough of the team’s 1-3 start to the season. In a post that appeared to be about nothing today on PFT’s website about Patrick Mahomes and Kirk Cousins facing off against one another, Florio went on to say that Cousins hasn’t been great because he prefers to spend Tuesdays with his family over working out.

In the NFL, Tuesdays are frequently off days.
The Vikings quarterback revealed in the Netflix series Quarterback that he shuns Tuesdays as a day off.
What’s the issue if that is your weekly day off, right?

According to Florio, incorrect.

“And this is where I mention a viewpoint that won’t be popular with everyone. Cousins spent Tuesday afternoon at a baseball game because he has an important test in five days (Has that ever stopped me?
), according to Florio.

(That baseball game, by the way, saw the Minnesota Twins snap an 18-game playoff losing streak by defeating the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1, and it was awesome.
).

It’s all right.
That’s his right, Florio writes.
“However, let’s not be shocked that Mahomes, and not Cousins, is currently the best quarterback in football. From a practical standpoint, Mahomes can consistently improvise when the play called goes wrong, turning chicken caca into chicken salad.
“.

Florio continues, “From an intangible standpoint, Mahomes makes the most of the downtime between games to prepare for the next opponent.
Most excellent people do.
“.

Florio asks, “Do you want to be great?”. (Italics in his).

“Do you?
If so, what are you willing to give up to be great?
Are you willing to work every day to be great?
Because others who aspire to be great are doing exactly that,” asks Florio.

Kirk Cousins isn’t exactly to blame for the Vikings’ 1-3 record. Through four games, he has thrown for more than 1,200 yards, 11 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
Just over 1,000 yards, 8 touchdowns, and the same number of interceptions are accumulated by Mahomes.

More than anything else, quarterback gave spectators a glimpse of these players’ lives outside of football.
They are actual people with families and interests aside from the work that makes them extremely wealthy.

“It was one of those times when I thought, ‘I’m really doing this.
I’m trying to teach my 6-year-old son about baseball while we’re both watching a professional baseball game. This is what my father did with me.
When asked about his trip to the game, Cousins said on Wednesday, “It was a lot of fun.
