The Cleveland Browns coaching staff has a chance to assess the roster and consider potential future improvements during the bye week. NFL trade rumors are circulating about some of the top running backs in football as the trade deadline draws near.

Cleveland made Jerome Ford its starting running back and re-signed veteran Kareem Hunt after losing Nick Chubb to a season-ending knee injury that will probably prevent him from playing in 2024.
Many people questioned whether the Browns would try to acquire a better running back through trade.

Cleveland’s backfield would benefit greatly from the addition of running backs Josh Jacobs of the Las Vegas Raiders and Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts. The Browns might go back to their previous offensive scheme, focusing on the running back and using him to set up the pass.

However, despite the potential availability of two Pro Bowl running backs, Browns general manager Andrew Berry suggested the team is happy with its current running backs.

“I know I can’t talk about specific players because of the tampering rules.
The running back room is something we’re happy with, even though we’re always active buyers and sellers on the trade market.

Since Chubb’s injury, Ford has served as Cleveland’s primary running back.
On the ground though, he has largely been ineffective.
Ford has only gained 44 rushing yards on 19 attempts over the course of the two games since Chubb’s injury, averaging just 2 points 32 yards per carry.
However, Cleveland should be noted for having faced two of the NFL’s top run defenses.

Berry still had a lot of good things to say about Ford and is a firm believer in his ability to make big plays despite his lack of success as the starting running back.

That was evident during the first month of the season.
His strength and speed are both a real asset, and he also makes a significant contribution to the passing game.
According to us, Jerome’s capacity to actually divide into separate groups and run routes is a pretty rare quality.
