In light of rumors that the Minnesota Vikings might trade Kirk Cousins to the New York Jets before the October 31 deadline, Kirk Cousins expressed his thoughts on possibly waiving his no-trade clause this month.
In a midseason sell-off that could include Kirk Cousins, the Minnesota Vikings took a step closer to trading important veterans on Wednesday.
When asked about releasing his no-trade clause to join a contender, Cousins, however, firmly told reporters to stop.
Everything else is not worth my time, energy, or attention, Cousins said.

A hamstring injury forced the Vikings, who are currently 1-4, to place star wide receiver Justin Jefferson on injured reserve on Wednesday.

After Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon on the first drive of 2023, according to analysts, the Jets are first in line to sign quarterbacks on the open market. Robert Saleh, the head coach, has been hesitant to commit to Zach Wilson, a backup quarterback, for the remainder of the year.
Saleh initially gave Wilson his full support, but after Wilson struggled in the starting position, he signed veteran quarterback Trevor Siemian to the practice squad.
Wilson lost to the Kansas City Chiefs but bounced back with a heroic effort, and this past weekend he beat the Denver Broncos despite tossing an interception.
Even so, Wilson’s NFL stats are insignificant in comparison to Cousins’ career achievements.
With a 66.8% completion rate over the course of his career, Cousins has a career passer rating of 98.0 and 265 passing touchdowns to 109 interceptions.
Wilson has 19 passing touchdowns to 23 interceptions, a 71.4% passer rating, and a 56.5% completion rate.
The Jets could ultimately decide that a new quarterback is necessary in order to make a significant playoff run, despite having one of the best defenses in the NFL and quality offensive weapons like Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson.
Rodgers’ potential to make a stunning comeback from his torn Achilles before the season is out is the wild card in all of this.
Though he has repeatedly insisted that he intends to play again, it would require the quickest recovery from the injury in NFL history.
