Red Bull chief Marko issues ‘hands off’ warning as F1 rival eyes driver swoop

Red Bull has too many good races scheduled for next year to offer seats in every F1 race, but they still won’t give up any of them easily.

To get Yuki Tsunoda to leave the Red Bull setup, Helmut Marko threatened to fine Aston Martin.

After making his Formula 1 debut in 2021, the Japanese racer has been a member of sister team AlphaTauri.
In addition, he signed a new contract ahead of his home race at Suzuka last month, meaning he is now under contract for a fourth season.

Although Liam Lawson made an outstanding F1 debut filling in for the injured Australian, Daniel Ricciardo was also given a contract extension, meaning Lawson will continue to be a reserve driver.
Red Bull has a ton of talent, but they don’t plan on letting any of it elude them.

Tsunoda has been strongly connected to a potential transfer to Aston Martin. Honda, which presently has a partnership with Red Bull, has been supporting him; however, that partnership will end in two years when the Japanese automaker starts collaborating with the Silverstone-based team.

Honda’s head of racing, Koji Watanabe, has stated that he would be open to Tsunoda being acquired by Aston Martin in the future. Due to the presence of veteran Fernando Alonso and the availability of Lance Stroll, the team is currently at capacity.

However, there have been some rumors lately regarding the Canadian’s future. Even though Stroll’s billionaire father Lawrence owns the team, his desire to continue racing in Formula One has been called into question.

If there is a vacancy at Aston Martin, Tsunoda might be at the top of the list of possible new hires. However, Marko has stated that money compensation would be required if that occurs while the 23-year-old is still bound by his Red Bull contract.

According to F1 Insider, the seasoned team advisor stated, “Tsunoda is under contract with us.”. “Aston Martin would need to reach a consensus with us first if they were considering acquiring him as early as next year. ****.

Toyota is concerned about the opinions of his current employers due to the rumors that associate him with Aston Martin. He said, “I don’t want Red Bull to think, for instance, that I’m only concentrating on Aston Martin right now or anything.”.

“I’ve been a Red Bull customer since I was eighteen years old, and I currently play for AlphaTauri. My main goal right now is to perform for Red Bull. Not for Aston Martin or anybody similar. I’m hoping Red Bull hasn’t misinterpreted those statements and that they are genuinely thinking about my future. Hopefully, if I outperform other drivers, they will give me more thought. ****.
