Report: In Addition To Deshaun Watson, Browns Expected To Be Without Two Other Veterans In Week Six

Two other veterans are anticipated to miss Week 6 of the Browns’ season in addition to Deshaun Watson.

The San Francisco 49ers will visit Cleveland this weekend, leaving the Cleveland Browns shorthanded at a few crucial offensive positions, including quarterback.

The Cleveland Browns’ injury woes are getting worse as practice week comes to an end.

Deshaun Watson isn’t anticipated to play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, according to a report from CBS Sports NFL Insider Josina Anderson.
Now, another report claims Cleveland will be without two additional offensive starters.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland .
com, veteran players tight end David Njoku and guard Joel Bitonio have no intention of donning Browns uniforms.

Similar to Browns Hall of Famer Joe Thomas, Bitonio has played in 102 straight games heading into Week Six, but a knee injury puts that streak in jeopardy of ending. Bitonio was spotted at the team facility using crutches during the team’s bye week.

Njoku, on the other hand, is still recuperating from burns he received to his hands and face while lighting a fire pit at his house two days before Cleveland played the Baltimore Ravens.
The first-round pick in 2017 recently posted pictures of the conditions on his Instagram.

It’s incredible that Njoku managed to put a helmet on and play two weeks ago despite having burns, let alone the fact that he also led the team in receiving with six catches for 48 yards.
He is anticipated to miss Week Six due to recent treatments.

According to Cabot, the Browns’ decision to not press the matter with Watson may have also been influenced by the absences of Bitonio and Njoku.
Playing his best offensive lineman and a crucial blocking tight end would have increased risk for Watson, who is still recovering from a rotator cuff injury.
Since his recovery could be stymied by unwarranted blows, the team must safeguard their $230 million asset.

Although none of the aforementioned players have been officially ruled “out” by the team, Friday’s injury report may force the change.
