Pittsburgh Steelers named OC Candidate
Steelers Could Consider Mike Tomlin’s Friend as an OC Candidate.
PITTSBURGH – Matt Canada, the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is probably going to stay with the team for the rest of the season.
However, if he were to leave in the spring, who would the team choose to take his place?
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden, who replaced Mike Tomlin as defensive backs coach, is one candidate.
Gruden was the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders before that position.
Reuniting could be an option, according to someone inside the team who helped them win a Super Bowl together.
..
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac fielded a question regarding a possible replacement during his weekly conversation with Steelers fans.
It’s far too early to make assumptions.
Jon Gruden, a Tomlin friend, would make a good one, though,” Dulac answered.
..
Despite leaving the Raiders, Gruden enjoyed success in the NFL and is currently not in the league.
Although fans would prefer that Pittsburgh go younger and perhaps find the next Kyle Shannahan, or someone from his coaching tree, the Super Bowl-winning coach could be a positive step for the team.
