NFL power ranking: Steelers fall in latest NFL power rankings despite being on a bye
Lions and Dolphins among those who rise in the NFL Week 7 Power Rankings as there are no more unbeaten teams.
There are no longer any unbeaten teams in the NFL after six weeks of play.
That raises the question, which I ponder frequently at this time of year: is anyone any good?
Seriously.
The San Francisco 49ers were fresh off a thrashing of the Dallas Cowboys on national television when they lost to the Cleveland Browns with a backup quarterback, deflating our hopes that they might actually make a serious run at being an undefeated team.
Jalen Hurts, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl star from last January, threw three interceptions later in the day, one of which came late to help the New York Jets score the game-winning touchdown.
This caused the Philadelphia Eagles to lose their unbeaten record.
For the 49ers, Brock Purdy presented a typical image while vying to be named the new Joe Montana.
Hurts hasn’t appeared the same this season despite being the best player in the Super Bowl the previous year.
Due to strong defenses, both teams lost.
The 1972 Miami Dolphins are celebrating their unbeaten season already after six weeks because no one can stop them.
For that, it’s still fairly early.
That has yet to be decided.
The 49ers and Eagles have fallen in my Power Rankings this week (to No. 8) even though I still believe they are good teams that just had bad days. 4 for the 49ers, and No. The Eagles have five. Kansas City Chiefs, currently ranked No. 1, are the best teams.
The Miami Dolphins are ranked No. No. 2 and the Detroit Lions at No. 3.
This week, the top three teams must overcome difficult obstacles.
At Arrowhead, the Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers, the Lions travel to face the Baltimore Ravens, and the Dolphins play the Eagles.
This coming weekend should make it clear which of the new top three are legitimate.
We were reminded Sunday not to set these teams up as the ones to beat by the 49ers and Eagles.
