NFL Trade Rumors: Chiefs, Packers, Colts, Panthers Monitoring WR Market at Deadline
With the NFL trade deadline just nine days away, teams will likely have plenty of interest in the market for wide receiver backup.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, wide receiver is considered a “high-profile” position ahead of the trade deadline, with the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers pursuing players who could be in trouble.
Available.
Fowler’s names are Jerry Judy, Hunter Renfrow and Terrace Marshall Jr. Parris Campbell, in particular, is a player who has been mentioned in trade rumors or could be moved by his current team before the deadline.
Jeudy has been the subject of trade speculation since the offseason.
Fowler reported in May that the Denver Broncos have “legitimate” interest in both Jeudy and Courtland Sutton, but are looking for a “big cap” to justify trading both receivers.
With the Broncos entering sell mode by trading Randy Gregory to the San Francisco 49ers and releasing Frank Clark, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jewdy in a new uniform soon.
Renfrow and Campbell seem happy with their current team. Renfrow has six catches for 59 yards in six games and has played less than 50 percent of the snaps in each of the last three games, including 10 percent in Week 6 against the New England Patriots.
Campbell played just three plays on special teams for the New York Giants in Sunday’s 14-9 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
He has played a total of 63 snaps since Week 3.
Fowler announced Thursday that he approved the Carolina Panthers’ request to trade Marshall.
Ironically, they want to add help at wide receiver because Marshall rarely plays for them.
He played against the Detroit Lions in Week 5, but did not play.
The Chiefs added help at receiver by acquiring Mecole Hardman from the New York Jets on Wednesday.
The Packers and Colts seem to be prioritizing long-term help as they don’t look like Super Bowl contenders right now.
Indianapolis will be without Gardner Minshew II at quarterback this season, and Anthony Richardson will undergo shoulder surgery to end his rookie season.
The Packers are off to a 2-3 start after their Week 6 bye. They have scored 20 points or fewer in each of their last three games.
Jordan Love has the lowest completion percentage (55.6) in the league among all quarterbacks who have started at least three games.
His six interceptions are tied for third in the NFL.
