Red Sox Reportedly ready to Trade one of their most exciting young pitchers

Should the Red Sox trade one of their most exciting young pitchers?

Things will be different in Boston in 2024.
The Red Sox are expected to be very active this season, and the club will need to do so if they want to return to the postseason next year.
Boston’s starting rotation has been the worst in baseball this season and will need a major overhaul this offseason.
Of course, there are plenty of big players in free agency, and some may be via trades.

According to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic , if the Red Sox choose to trade to improve their rotation this offseason, they would have to give up a solid piece, and one player who could be involved in a trade is young pitcher Tanner Hook.
“Like (Jarren Duran), Hook could be a building block, a player with something to prove or a trade target,” McCaffrey said.
If the Red Sox want to trade this winter, they will have to make tough decisions about the young players with major league time that other teams are hiding.
It’s hard to know how the team’s next leader will feel about Hawke. Could a trade package for Hook and a few other starters produce higher returns than other starting pitchers?
Or will he always get a shot in the rotation?

Hawk had a 5.01 ERA in 21 starts in his first year in the rotation.
He is still in pre-arbitration and earned $740,000 last year.
Unlike (Garrett Whitlock), his contract status makes him a little more attractive to teams.\”

Hawk has proven to be a solid player at the big league level and could be an interesting pitcher to watch, but has been the subject of trade rumors in the past. The big right-hander is only 27 years old and has already spent parts of four seasons in the major leagues.
If Boston is willing to trade Hook, it would be a huge deal for the star.
Several pitchers have been linked to Boston in the past, including Cleveland shortstop Shane Bieber and Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Kease. If Boston can elevate someone to the level of Bieber or Cez, this move makes sense.
Otherwise, it’s best to work with Hook and see what he can do.
