Report: Justin Jefferson Reveals Who He Wants As His Quarterback Next Season
The Minnesota Vikings have struggled mightily this season.
The team got off to a slow 1-4 start and dealt with nagging injuries to star players Justin Jefferson and Kirk Cousins.
Cousins will miss the remainder of the 2023 season, while Jefferson is on track to return. The star wide receiver shared who he wants at quarterback next year.
The Justin Jefferson-Kirk Cousins duo
The wide receiver hopes Cousins will stick with the Vikings and play better next season. The two have had great chemistry over the years and have established themselves as one of the best receiving quarterbacks in the league.
Before the injury, Jefferson was on track to win another NFL title.
But that won’t happen, despite Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill having a historic season. As for Cousins, he was one of five players to rush for yards before suffering a torn Achilles tendon last week against the Green Bay Packers. Rumors are already swirling about the Minnesota quarterback’s future.
Before suffering the injury against the Kansas City Chiefs, Jefferson had managed 571 receiving yards and three touchdowns in five games.
Since joining the league in 2020, he has posted 5,396 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns and has topped 1,000 receiving yards in every season so far this year.
As for Cousins, he had 2,331 passing yards and 18 tackles this season before getting hurt against Green Bay.
He is entering his 12th season in the NFL and has amassed 39,471 passing yards and 270 touchdowns in his illustrious career.
He proved he can be great.
But can the Vikings trust him enough to keep him next year?
