Deion Sanders Addresses Whether He’d Take An NFL Head Coaching Job

Deion Sander’s first year in Colorado has been up and coming, but the Hall of Fame coach-turned-coach has already helped the Buffaloes to four wins this year, their best season since 2020 with three games remaining. fear Although this is Sanders’ first season, fans wondered what it would take for a head coach to make the jump to the NFL.

Appearing on the Dan Patrick Show, Sanders said he doesn’t think he’s an NFL head coach.
“I don’t think I was cut out for the NFL,” Sanders said. “I have so much respect for the game and I respect the game and what the game has consistently done for me.”

Sanders went on to explain that he couldn’t coach players who are only in the NFL for the money and don’t value football as much as he does. “When I see a guy getting paid millions and millions of dollars and he doesn’t respect the game, doesn’t want to succeed and exceed the expectations of the game, I have a real problem,” he added. “I’m too brutally honest and I want to win so bad and I need everyone to respect the game and often money overshadows that judgement.”

Patrick asked if Sanders would like to coach his sons Shedeur and Shilo if they were on the same team in the pros, and Sanders cleverly dodged the question.
“I don’t think that far down the street,” he said.
In the interview, Sanders mentioned that he expects Shedeur to stay in Colorado for one more season instead of entering the 2024 NFL Draft, so he did not consider coaching him in the NFL.
