Steelers DT Cam Heyward reveals plans to make Browns rookie QB miserable
Dorian Thompson-Robinson had a rough rookie season.
Like many Cleveland Browns players, he was thrown into the fire.
His only start of the season came just hours after Deshaun Watson told him he wouldn’t play against the Baltimore Ravens, one of the toughest defenses in the league.
He earned his “Welcome to the NFL moment” by throwing four catches and three picks in a 28-3 loss to Cleveland in Week 4.
Fast forward seven weeks and Watson’s season is over and he’s ready to face one of the best pass rush units in the TJ league. Watt and Alex Highsmith on Sunday.
Well, at least I had a few days to prepare.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ plans could be the exact opposite of Cleveland’s.
That means forcing them to run the ball.
“We’re trying to put it all on his shoulders,” Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward said on “Good Morning Football.” “Then I guess I’ll have to cancel my flight. I know they don’t have Nick Chubb, but they have a great offensive line that does a great job for them.”
The Steelers defense is focused on creating “awkward” situations for the rookie.
“We have to make him uncomfortable.
See if he needs to pass the ball.
This running game just can’t be relied upon.
So sacks and turnovers are the legendary cure for a quarterback’s long day.
With 27 sacks, Pittsburgh ranks 12th and has had just one game without a sack (Houston Texans).
