DONE DEAL: Steelers Sign Former Falcons LB

The Pittsburgh Steelers added linebacker Mikal Walker to their 53-man practice roster after losing tight end Kwon Alexander.

Pittsburgh placed Alexander, 29, on reserve after he tore his Achilles tendon in a Week 10 game against the Green Bay Packers.
Instead, the Steelers added Walker, a former fourth-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons.

Walker spent three seasons in Atlanta playing at least 16 games per season and started 12 games in 2022.
Last year, he recorded 107 tackles, six pass breakups and two interceptions for the Falcons.

Walker tells all Steelers he can add another element to the Steelers’ linebacker room and is confident they can fill a need even without Alexander.
‘My experience.
My versatility,” Walker said of what he brings to the room.
“I’ve done it before.
It used to be a green dot.
We played games and we played big games.
All you need is my experience and the ability to call a technician anytime. I ask questions all day.
There will never be anyone in the locker room who thinks they know everything.
You’ll feel more confident asking for help, asking for answers, and more. I think what he brings to this room is experience and versatility.”

Walker is expected to start against the Cleveland Browns in Week 11 alongside Elandon Roberts.
Now that he, Allendon Roberts and Mark Robinson have gained experience, Pittsburgh will continue to rely on all three in the second half of the year.
