Lewis Hamilton risks being fined for ignoring a mandatory rule for FIA Formula 1 drivers.

Formula 1 drivers must adhere to a variety of rules set by the FIA, but the incomparable Lewis Hamilton is no stranger to ignoring some of the unnecessary rules.

Lewis Hamilton will have to pay another fine if he continues his habit of not attending this year’s FIA end-of-season awards ceremony.

FIA regulations require the top three drivers in the Formula 1 standings to participate in this spectacular event. And Hamilton is now guaranteed third place this season. Because Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso are now too far behind to qualify for a race. Regulations require Hamilton to travel to Baku for next month’s event. Breaching it will result in the same penalty as a refusal to participate in 2021. A controversial season finale followed when Max Verstappen was crowned champion at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Race director Michael Masi failed to manage the second half of the safety car stint that gave the Red Bull driver victory and Hamilton took a long time to forgive the FIA.

He later said he would use the money for charity. “It’s going to be a great event: a gala,” he said. “But we’ve worked together to make sure the money goes to underprivileged young people and help them get involved in motorsport engineering.”

Hamilton did not participate in last year’s competition either. That meant he was not in Bologna to win the Action of the Year award, presented to the Mercedes ace for his stunning double overtakes of Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez at the 2022 British Grand Prix.

However, no fine was imposed as there was no requirement to appear at the time. In a disappointing season for Mercedes, Hamilton finished sixth in the drivers’ standings, with Perez and Leclerc tasked with joining Verstappen at the awards ceremony.

Hamilton finished seventh at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, a result he considered generally disappointing. However, the Briton suffered many setbacks but was still in good spirits after an enjoyable race.
