JUST-IN: Browns Give official 2-Word Update on Starting QB Situation
Joe Flacco will return to the Cleveland Browns’ starting lineup as Dorian Thompson-Robinson still has to clear concussion protocol.
The Browns provided an update on Monday regarding Thompson Robinson, who missed Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
When asked if Thompson-Robinson was still suffering from a concussion, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski simply replied: “He is.
” His shoulder was sore for the rest of the season.
Thompson-Robinson started two games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos.
He was ejected in the third quarter of the game against the Broncos after suffering a blow to the head.
Previously, Thompson-Robinson started the Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens, but had three interceptions in a short period of time.
The Browns then handed the reins to P.J.
Walker for two starts and the majority of three games in which Watson attempted to return, but was ejected after one quarter.
If Thompson-Robinson is lost, Walker will be the No.
3 quarterback on the depth chart.
The Browns are not yet ready to name a starting QB in Joe Flacco Flacco signed on November 20th and made his first start Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
The former Super Bowl MVP completed 23 of 44 for 254 yards and two touchdowns.
His only mistake came at a bad time in the fourth quarter.
With 6:.
32 left, he threw a deep ball to Elijah Moore, but it was blocked by Rams safety John Johnson III.
Coach Stefanski did not endorse Flacco as the starter after the game and did not indicate that intention Monday.
“I’m not going to get involved in anything like that on Monday,” Stefanski said. We'll make it. '' That's not to say Stefanski doesn't like the way he sees Flacco, who brings a veteran attitude to the position.
Operationally, I thought Joe did a good job.
“We went in and out of Huddlewell,” Stefanski said.
“We weren’t perfect, there were some things that weren’t so great in terms of alignment.
But I thought Joe did a good job in the huddle and that’s what you would expect from a veteran like Joe.
” That was the main reason for his frustration.
“Yeah, I’m just mad at myself,” Flacco said at a press conference.
“At the end of the day, it was just the wrong decision,” Flacco said.
“I was too slow throwing the pass.
I really wanted to go, but they adjusted everything and we had time in the bag, but we lost sight of the safety that was floating there.
”He had something left in the tank.
He proved that against the Rams and wants one more shot to lead the Browns to victory.
“When you get a little bit hooked on the game of football, you want to stick with it for as long as possible,” Flacco said.
The Browns will face the Jacksonville Jaguars on December 10th for a chance to end a two-game hiatus.
