Steelers’ place T.J. Watt in concussion protocol after star pass rusher reports concussion-like symptoms

Watt has showed up in each of the 13 Steelers games this season

T.J. Watt, the 2021 NFL protective player of the year, is amidst one more solid season with 14 sacks through 13 games.

Watt’s sack complete is second in the NFL, one behind association pioneer Khalil Mack’s 15.

Watt reported concussion-like symptoms to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ medical staff earlier this week.

The 29-year-old pass rusher was placed in concussion protocol by the team. Watt told group specialists about his side effects Friday, on one occasion after the New Britain Loyalists upset the Steelers.

Watt left Thursday night’s down in the main quarter in the wake of taking a coincidental knee to the facial covering from Nationalists running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Before returning, Watt played 51 of Pittsburgh’s 57 defensive snaps and recorded five tackles while on the sideline. He was held without a sack for the third time in 13 games.

Alex Highsmith, who with Watt structures one of the most imposing pass rush couples in the NFL, missed the greater part of the misfortune to New Britain in the wake of entering the blackout convention in the primary quarter.

Pittsburgh’s linebacker corps has been desolated by wounds this season. Inside linebackers Kwon Alexander and Cole Holcomb are now out for the year, and Elandon Roberts played against the Nationalists regardless of a crotch injury.

The only players on the active roster with experience playing outside linebacker are rookie Nick Herbig and veteran Markus Golden, leaving the Steelers with few options at this position.

Thursday’s second consecutive misfortune hurt the Steelers’ season finisher trusts. Before facing the burgeoning Indianapolis Colts on December 16, the Steelers will have a few extra days of rest.
