Kelly told Whitlock, who was gasping for air, “There were a couple of instances that made me think, ‘I don’t think he is going to keep any of us.’ ” The coaches had informed us that there would be cuts and decisions would be made regarding who would be allowed to remain on the team and who would not.”

Perhaps he might have been relieved to know he wasn’t the only one with feelings.
Kelly interacted with Coach Prime four times and tried to get to know him.
She wanted to compliment him and tell him how much she respects him.

“This time I was alone with him in the elevator coming up from the locker room, and we were the only two men,” Kelly recalled.

Kelly’s dream of playing major college football and making it to the National Football League has always led him to sacrifice his life, always having a “me first” mentality and not worrying about his feelings or his future.

Coach He’s more than prime but he’s a coach with an open door policy.
Joe Paterno and Bobby Bowden would never have had Matt say anything close to this.
I’ve heard from countless players that, unlike Sanders, they were true open-door coaches who cared about their players.
