Rory McIlroy showed true colours moments before heated Ryder Cup bust-up

Rory McIlroy scandalously conflicted with Patrick Cantlay’s caddie Joe LaCava subsequent to losing to the American and Wyndham Clark close by Matt Fitzaptrick at the current year’s Ryder Cup

Rory McIlroy had been quieting down the boisterous European group who were on the rear of Patrick Cantlay minutes before the Northern Irishman conflicted with Cantlay’s caddie, Joe LaCava at the current year’s Ryder Cup.

Midway through day two, just before Cantlay was scheduled to face McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Wyndham Clark in the afternoon fourballs, the news about “capgate” broke. The home crowd mocked Cantlay in response to the report by amusingly taking off their own headgear and waving it in his direction as the former FedEx Cup champion walked the course.

Regardless of the atmopshere Cantlay held his nerve, holing a noteworthy winning putt on the eighteenth green to get a genuinely necessary point for Group USA heading into the last day. Cantlay’s American teammates, eager to get their own back, waved their caps in an ironic celebration, and his caddie, LaCava, joined them.
