Frank Warren Gives Verdict On Joshua-Ngannou

After seeing his man Tyson Fury almost come unstuck against Francis Ngannou, Frank Warren has now spoken out on the former UFC champion’s fight with Anthony Joshua and called it ‘intriguing.’

Before Ngannou was revealed as Tyson Fury’s unexpected opponent last year, he was essentially unknown in the boxing world.

When he entered the ring against Fury in October, he was a boxing rookie despite being a celebrated MMA heavyweight champion who was feared for his immense hitting power.

That ultimately didn’t matter since he boxed really effectively, kept somewhat safe, and even scored an iconic knockdown before ultimately defeating the loser by split decision.

Now, on March 8, Ngannou will face Joshua to wrap out the Saudi Arabian Riyadh season, while Fury will advance to his historic, uncontested matchup with Oleksandr Usyk.

Warren gave a preview of the fight between Ngannou and Joshua in an interview with IFL TV.

His performance versus Tyson has added spice to an already exciting contest. Although this is only his second boxing match, he had a lengthy and prosperous history in the UFC, where he held the title of undisputed champion.

Warren then mentioned some of Ngannou’s qualities.

“As Tyson will tell you, he does punch. In-fighting, that’s their game MMA fighters, and you’re talking about the top level. About somebody who shaped up and looked like a boxer again Tyson.

“We’re aware that he can punch and box, and unlike other MMA fighters, he doesn’t stand stiffly. It should be an exciting battle since he can fight in either an orthodox or southpaw posture.

In the end, he was unable to pick a winner but asserted that AJ had more information before the bout.

Who knows if he manages to capture AJ? The one advantage AJ has over Tyson is that he has seen Ngannou in a boxing ring. Tyson did not have that advantage.
