Former LSU Wide Receiver Bet on Himself Against FSU Football and Lost

Former LSU Football star wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is in hot water, after being charged with illegal online gambling, placing over 8,900 bets. Some of those bets were on LSU games while he was still on the team, including betting on himself against Florida State in their season opener in New Orleans in 2022.

Per Pete Nakos of On3 Sports, Boutte bet that he would score a score and have more than 82.5 getting yards against the ‘Noles as a feature of a 8-leg parlay.

Boutte had as many drops as he did catches in that game, which ended up being an instant classic because the ‘Noles blocked an extra point at the end of regulation to win. Boutte finished that game with just two catches for 20 yards and no touchdowns. Florida State took care of him up all game, with credit to Renardo Green and Akeem Gouge.

After a solid green bean and sophomore mission, where Boutte piled up 1,244 getting yards and 14 scores, many had him fixed as a possible top-5 pick on the off chance that he could develop on those seasons with serious areas of strength for a season. He had a disappointing season that began with the Florida State game and ended with just 538 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The New England Patriots selected him in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft instead, making him a potential first-round pick. In his rookie season, he only caught two passes for 19 yards on seven targets.

As per the capture warrant (he has since handed himself over on these charges), Boutte set an aggregate sum of $132,147.53 into his web based wagering profile during the 2022 and 2023 seasons and pulled out $50,282,36. He had really won significantly more than that, however a great deal of his rewards went right once more into the record to make more wagers.
