SAD NEWS: Cowboys Put Dak Prescott life is in danger and threats
In the Dallas Cowboys’ first public remarks since the team’s defeat to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC wild-card round, owner Jerry Jones chose not to discuss Dak Prescott’s future. Prescott is entering the final season of a $160 million, four-year deal.
It will be difficult to create a roster that can compete with Prescott because he will have a cap hit of $59.4 million in 2024. Jones noticed the Ranchers went to the extent that Prescott could take them in the postseason. Not exactly a strong recommendation for the franchise quarterback and a sign that Dallas expects more from Prescott.
Jones told reporters on January 30, 2024, during practices for the Senior Bowl, “Dak has done nothing to change my mind of any promise for the future.” I assume I said [previously] that we’d go to the extent that Dak takes us in the end of the season games. You remember that?
“We’ll go to the extent that Dak takes us, and that is the manner by which far we went. That doesn’t change anything, but we’ll go as far as Dak takes us, that’s my point.
Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram characterized Jones’ remarks at the Senior Bowl as “confusing.” With regard to Prescott’s future, Jones maintained that the team would adopt a “holistic” approach to the offseason.
“Jerry Jones would not commit marking Dak Prescott to an expansion in light of the fact that the group is adopting an all encompassing strategy to the offseason yet offered this confounding jingle,” Slope posted January 30 on X, alluding to Jones’ remarks.
On Dak Prescott’s Playoff Performance, Jerry Jones said, Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys, declined today to discuss Dak Prescott’s contract or any other player in particular. “I Think That We as a Team Laid an Egg” Dak has never really adjusted my perspective [about] any commitment for what’s in store. … We will go to the extent that Dak takes us. Also, that is the means by which far we went.”
How far did the Cattle rustlers go with Prescott? In the wild-card round, the Cowboys lost 48-32 at home despite being a touchdown favorite. Jones could be turning up the tension on Prescott or endeavoring to underline his trust in an impossible to miss way.
After his comments, the Ranchers proprietor was pushed on his evaluation of Prescott’s exhibition against the Packers. Jones set out to accuse the group, gruffly expressing the Cattle rustlers “laid an egg.”
Jones responded, “Well, I think we laid an egg as a team.” In particular, I need to say it and answer that way, and you can begin here. And I’m not trying to be kind in any way. However, you can begin here and proceed further down the line.
“That was a terrible day for ourselves and made a great deal of investigation on days well before that and long after that. That’s the kind of day it was, so it’s going to have an impact. We’ll do things that honor the way that we didn’t play well against the Packers.”
Cowboys News: Jerry Jones Declined to Preclude Not Marking Dak Prescott to an Expansion

Jones declined to preclude the likelihood that the Cattle rustlers could enter the 2024 season with Prescott and Mike McCarthy both on the last year of their agreements. With provisos to forestall the establishment tag or an exchange, Prescott has all the influence in the dealings.
Dallas could move toward Prescott to rebuild his arrangement without an expansion, however it would look bad for the quarterback to do as such. Even though Jones made a lot of contradictory statements, the Cowboys should sign Prescott to an extension sooner rather than later.
