Super Tiger has made a leap on the world professional golf rankings, increasing 430 places, from 1,328th to 898th in the world.

At the Hero World Challenge 2023 last week in the Bahamas, Tiger Woods marked his return to the professional playing field after 8 months off due to injury.

The owner of 15 majors has missed most of the 2023 season, after re-injuring his right plantar fasciitis injury at The Masters at Augusta National in April.

Before the Hero World Challenge, Woods was ranked 1,328th on the world professional golf rankings ( OWGR ), the lowest ranking of his career.

But everything changed after just one week. Closing four rounds at the Albany course.

With an even par record, ranking 18th out of 20 competing golfers, the former world No. 1 has made a leap forward on the world rankings.

According to the latest update, Woods is currently ranked 898th in the world, up 430 places compared to the previous update.

18th place at the Hero World Challenge helped the 47-year-old golfer add 2.4 OWGR points, helping him skyrocket in rank.

However, this is still not Woods’ most spectacular jump up the rankings. In 2017, after being absent for almost the entire season, Woods also made a comeback at the Hero World Challenge, and finished in T9 position.

With this result, he rose from position 1199 to 668th in the world (up 531 places). After winning the 2019 Masters championship , Woods returned to No. 5 in the world, before gradually falling down the rankings due to many injuries and persistent surgeries.

Tiger Woods’ final tournament of 2023 is the PNC Championship , taking place from December 14 to 17 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. He will compete with his 14-year-old son, Charlie, before preparing for the 2024 season with a goal of once a month.
