Novak Djokovic to swap tennis for golf as plans for after US Open confirmed

Plans for after the US Open are confirmed as Novak Djokovic spars with a legendary F1 driver.

After the US Open, Novak Djokovic will interact with football and Formula One athletes in a special event. The Serb is currently competing for his third Grand Slam of the year in New York after defeating Taylor Fritz in the last eight on Tuesday.
He has advanced to the semi-finals.

Over the next few days, Djokovic’s sole attention will be on defeating Carlos Alcaraz at Flushing Meadows, who has emerged as the 36-year-old’s main rival since winning Wimbledon earlier this year.
However, a thrilling new challenge in the form of a celebrity golf tournament before the Ryder Cup will be waiting for him after the US Open.

Before Europe plays the USA in the 44th Ryder Cup, an all-star match featuring a host of well-known players will take place.
Along with a number of other well-known athletes, such as former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko and Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz, Djokovic will be putting his abilities to the test.

Gareth Bale, who has won the Champions League five times, will also play in the game; over the years, the Welshman has made no secret of his love of golf. The competition will begin at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome just before the Ryder Cup begins there.

Golfing legends Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin will serve as the captains of each team, which consists of two groups of five celebrities each.
Along with Bale, Garrett Hilbert from Dude Perfect, professional surfer Leonardo Fioravanti, and golfer Kipp Popert, who previously topped the world rankings for players with disabilities, Djokovic will be a member of Team Monty.

The legendary atmosphere of a Ryder Cup is something Djokovic is eager to experience when he tees off in Rome.
“The course appears to be a fantastic test of golf, and my playing partner Kipp, a seasoned pro, has recently had a lot of success on the G4D Tour, so I’m confident we can earn a point for the team.
The fans are going to enjoy this fantastic spectacle.

Bale is also excited about the possibility of playing alongside Djokovic in the competition, which is set to begin two days before the Ryder Cup on September 27.

The former Real Madrid winger declared, “The Ryder Cup is a special event.
“After experiencing the amazing energy at Europe’s victory in 2010, I can’t wait to relive some of that magic in Rome in a few weeks.

“Playing in the Colin Montgomerie-captained All-Star Match will be an incredible experience, and I can’t wait to hit the links with some great players.
Fans will undoubtedly love it and it will be a top-notch event.
