Mike Tomlin Makes Surprising Decision On Offensive Coordinator In Week 5

In Week 5, Mike Tomlin, the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers, makes a surprising choice.

Before their game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5, the Pittsburgh Steelers are making some adjustments.
However, it’s possible that wasn’t the offensive coordinator the Pittsburgh Steelers’ supporters had hoped for.

Mike Tomlin, the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, stated in a video posted by Brooke Pryor with ESPN that they needed to “make some changes” after the performance following the team’s loss to the Houston Texans in Week 4.
In Week 5, Tomlin promised, they would have a strategy.

Keep Matt Canada as the play-caller for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tomlin clarified that statement on Tuesday, according to Josh Carney of USA Today. Tomlin claimed that these modifications were more related to their physicality and practice methods this week.
Tomlin stated that offensive coordinator Matt Canada won’t be changed despite acknowledging that the offensive coaching hasn’t been adequate.

After Tomlin’s remarks on Sunday, allowing Canada to continue calling plays is unexpected.
In two of their first four games this season, the Steelers’ offense has been limited to seven or fewer points.

Not all of the issues are Canada’s fault. The offensive line has not done a good job of blocking for the running game.
Week 4 saw Kenny Pickett suffer an injury.

The play-calling, however, has been terrible to begin the year.
Tomlin is aware of it, but he isn’t yet ready to take action.
