Leeds Rhinos CEO confirms the biggest commercial deal in the club’s history
Headingley Stadium has a new name thanks to the Leeds Rhinos.
In what they call a “record-breaking” deal, the Leeds Rhinos have revealed a new name for their Headingley home.
Due to a naming rights agreement with Leeds-based vehicle solutions company AMT Auto, the home field of the Rhinos will be known as AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium as of December 1 of this year.
The stadium has only been renamed four times prior to the 15-year partnership, which is the largest commercial agreement in the club’s history.

Neil McGawley, the managing director of AMT Auto and the man who founded the company in 1995, will join the board as a non-executive director and is a fan of the Rhinos.

Having its main office in Leeds and additional locations in London, Birmingham, and Edinburgh, the new backers are an independent family-owned company.
In addition to supporting Yorkshire cricket and Leeds United, they employ over 150 people.
Rob Oates, the commercial director for the Rhinos, said: “I would like to thank Neil McGawley and all of his team at AMT Auto for the support they have given the club.
“To have secured such a significant partner, especially in a difficult market for all professional sport at present, shows just how much faith Neil has in the future of our club.
“They are a wonderful family-run business with strong urban roots and lovely employees.
For the upcoming season, the first team’s replica shirts, playing shirts, and shorts will all have the AMT logo on the collar to match the rest of the stadium’s distinctive branding.
The partnership between the Rhinos and AMT Auto is a fantastic outcome for both organizations.
“We are always proud to celebrate local success stories who have established a national presence.
“.
The company wants to “be the top choice for vehicles in Leeds and Yorkshire,” according to McGawley.
“Having our brand connected to the renowned Headingley Stadium reinforces that vision and is a fantastic opportunity for us,” he continued.
“I am proud and thrilled that AMT can begin this long-term commitment and partnership with Headingley and the Rhinos as a devoted fan of the Rhinos and Leeds sports.
“I’d like to thank [chairman] Paul Caddick and the board of directors for welcoming AMT Auto to the Rhinos family.
We’re all looking forward to some fun times in the coming 15 years.
“.
Bass Headingley (1990–1994), Headingley Carnegie (2006–2017), and Emerald Headingley (2018–2021) were the three previous naming rights holders for the Headingley rugby stadium.
