Miami Dolphins trade for Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool

Wide receiver Chase Claypool of the Chicago Bears is traded to the Miami Dolphins, according to UPI.com.

The Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears have agreed to trade for veteran wide receiver Chase Claypool, the two teams said on Friday.

For Claypool and a seventh-round pick, the Dolphins will trade a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Bears.
To finish the deal, Claypool needs to pass a physical.

Through three games this season, Claypool, who was acquired by the Bears in a 2022 trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers, had a total of four receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown. He was not on the field for the last two Bears contests.

Claypool, 25, was selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft and made his professional debut.
In 16 games as a rookie, he accumulated a career-high 873 yards and nine touchdowns.

Through his first 49 NFL appearances, Claypool accumulated 2,235 yards and 13 scores on 171 catches.

The Dolphins’ top wide receivers are Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Braxton Berrios.
Among the Dolphins’ depth chart’s backup wide receivers, Claypool will probably compete for playing time with Berrios, Robbie Chosen, and Cedrick Wilson.

At 1, the Miami Dolphins (3-1) will take on the New York Giants (1-3).
