QB Baker Mayfield makes comments regarding the end of the Browns’ career.
Baker Mayfield, a quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who played hurt throughout the 2021 NFL season, is still perplexed as to why the Cleveland Browns gave up on him.

As reported by Hunter Hodies of The Spun, Mayfield expressed his confusion about the situation during a Friday appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”.
“Towards the end there, I played in 2021 with a torn shoulder, and I was excited to get surgery, get healthy, and get back to my 2020 form, but that wasn’t their plan.

As the first overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, Mayfield joined the Cleveland Browns and led the team to a memorable playoff victory against the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers in January 2021.
After that, in Week 2 of the following season, he suffered what turned out to be a serious injury to his (non-throwing) shoulder, but he tried to play through the setback before having surgery in January 2022.

About two months after that procedure, the Browns acquired Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans to serve as Mayfield’s replacement.
Before agreeing to a one-year deal with the Buccaneers in March of this year, Mayfield ultimately played parts of the 2022 season with the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams.
