Maple Leafs Announce Staff Updates

Curtis McElhinney has been hired as the Director of Goaltending Development and Scouting for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Jake Muzzin has been named a Pro Scout, and Chris Bourque will take on a new position as a College Free Agent Scout, according to an announcement made today by Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Brad Treliving.

After a 16-year professional hockey career, McElhinney now works for the Maple Leafs. The 40-year-old played in 249 NHL regular season games for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes, Maple Leafs, Columbus Blue Jackets, Phoenix Coyotes, Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, and Calgary Flames.
He won two Stanley Cups with Tampa Bay (2020 and 2021), and he represented Canada at the 2018 IIHF World Championship.

In January 2019, Muzzin was first acquired by the Maple Leafs through a trade with the Los Angeles Kings.
The Woodstock, Ontario native scored 294 points (69 goals, 225 assists) in 683 regular-season games between Los Angeles and Toronto.
He added another 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) in 72 career playoff games.
At the 2015 IIHF World Championship and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, Muzzin helped Canada win gold medals.
He also helped Los Angeles win the 2014 Stanley Cup.

Following a 17-year playing career, Bourque joined the Maple Leafs’ scouting department in 2022–23.
