As the Red Bull war emerges, Christian Horner is ‘trying to axe Helmut Marko’.
Christian Horner discusses Red Bull’s achievements and teases future plans.
It is being reported that Red Bull CEO Christian Horner is “trying to axe” advisor Helmut Marko due to a political feud that is emerging within the team. Red Bull has become the dominant force in Formula One thanks to Horner and Marko’s partnership, which has helped them win six Constructors’ Championship titles.
Nonetheless, the Brazilian newspaper Globo has revealed that there is an increase in hostilities amongst Red Bull’s top executives. They claim that since the passing of Didi Mateschitz, the founder of the team and an Austrian tycoon, there has been a greater “struggle for power.”.
According to rumors, Horner desires total command over the team’s Formula One business.
According to the report, Horner plays a significant role in discussions regarding driver and director changes and has a “great influence” on Red Bull’s AlphaTauri feed team.
The hiring of new chief executive Peter Bayer, a former executive director of the FIA, was reportedly decided with input from the team principal.
According to the report, Horner recently signed a new contract with AlphaTauri and “wants to get rid” of Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda.
As Tsunoda is rumored to be joining Aston Martin, Horner may get his wish.
It has been reported that Honda representatives forced through Tsunoda’s contract renewal despite Red Bull’s initial resistance. This follows the rise of Liam Lawson, who at just his third Grand Prix placed ninth in Singapore.
With three event points from finishing in the top ten, the Japanese driver is in his third season with AlphaTauri.
Prior to Lawson replacing an injured Daniel Ricciardo, Tsunoda was the only player on the team to score points.
