VETERAN FREE AGENT RB ADDED TO GREEN BAY PACKERS’ SPLASH.

The Green Bay Packers have had a difficult time running the football during their 1-3 season start.

The Packers decided to sign a veteran today, reportedly because they weren’t happy with their current running back room after last weekend’s bye.

James Robinson, who was just recently in town for a workout, has now formally joined the group.

Aaron Jones, the Packers’ star running back, is still recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered in the team’s victory over the Bears in the season opener.

It might be the boost the Packers offense needs right now, and it might do the same for Robinson’s career.

After a string of recent failures, the 25-year-old running back is looking to restart his career. It began soon after the 2020 season, when he finished with 1,000 yards of rushing to become just the fourth undrafted rookie in history.

While Jones has played a very limited role outside of his dominant Week 1 performance, Dillon has taken on the lion’s share of the carries in Jones’ absence. Dillon leads the team in rushing this year despite having only 194 yards after 5 games.

In just 14 games, Robinson completed his record-breaking rookie season in Jacksonville with 1,070 yards, giving him 2,262 career yards overall.

When the Packers travel to face the winless Denver Broncos this weekend, with a 3:25 p.m. kickoff on Sunday, they hope to return to .-500.
