Red Sox legend reveals another super star who will end up with a move to Boston.

What will happen to Shohei Ohtani is one of the major plots heading into the MLB offseason.
Set to become a free agent, the two-way sensation is expected to demand a sizable salary.
Although he played for the Los Angeles Angels for his first six seasons, Ohtani never participated in the postseason. He expressed his desire to win once more, and there will probably be many suitors vying for his signature.

Not only the Boston Red Sox, but many other teams would benefit from Ohtani’s services.
The pitcher/designated hitter is still a valuable asset to any team, even though he will not be able to pitch the following season due to elbow surgery.

Boston would be a good fit for Ohtani, in the opinion of Red Sox legend Pedro Martinez, who envisions the superstar playing for the illustrious club in 2024.

He’s going to play in Boston, I believe. Martinez told Sports Illustrated, “I would adore to have him.”.
Yet I believe LA is a good fit for him as well.
He and his friend Yu Darvish might be able to get together at San Diego, in my opinion. I am aware that Kodai Senga is a member of the Mets, and they have the financial means to compensate him.
Thus, there will be a select few teams who can afford him as well.
These are the only locations that come to mind for Ohtani to potentially land. But I must admit, Boston No. 1.
“.

The teams Martinez mentioned undoubtedly have the payroll to sign Ohtani, but the Padres are reportedly cutting theirs by 20 percent after a disappointing 2023 season in which they missed the postseason despite spending a lot of money to sign several talented players.

As a “real threat” to sign the 29-year-old, Ohtani has been associated with the Red Sox.
However, there will probably be fierce competition from all around the league to reach an agreement with the front-runner for the 2023 American League MVP.

After firing Chaim Bloom in September, Boston has to find a new general manager, which is proving to be a challenging task, in addition to finding some players to cover gaps on its roster for the 2024 season.

The Red Sox will undoubtedly have a busy offseason, and it will be interesting to watch what Ohtani can eventually sign and where the market ultimately looks for him.
