Departed Marlins GM wanted ex-Mets infielder who chose Red Sox

Former New York Mets infielder selected the Red Sox over the Marlins, much to the dismay of the departing general manager.

Jean Segura’s two-year, $17 million contract was one of many decisions she made during her three years as Miami’s general manager last offseason.
However, Ng truly intended to sign Justin Turner, but he signed a two-year, $22 million contract with the Red Sox, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
