Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill sparks Browns trade speculation with four-word message.
Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill sparked trade speculation with the Cleveland Browns with a playful message he posted on Twitter on Oct.
10.
Hill responded to a message from former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Juan Thornhill, who donated tickets to the Browns’ home game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Hill replied, “Can I come?”
Thornhill replied, “You’re always welcome.
Just let me know.”
The commentary recommended Hill as the best option, even though he has a massive contract with the Dolphins through the 2026 season.
“We may be a weak franchise, but we love you more than anything,” one Browns fan wrote.
“The country needs this energy.”
“I’m not saying you don’t get along with Miami, but Cleveland likes you more,” wrote another fan.
Tyreek Hill has previously said he wants to play for the Browns.
It’s an understated message from Hill, but it’s not the first time he’s said he wants to play for the Browns.
When he wanted to leave Kansas City, the Browns were one of his preferred destinations.
“They should have paid me, but I was trying to come to Cleveland,” Hill told a fan at a jersey signing in April.
“I tried, but they didn’t want me.”
The Browns traded for Amari Cooper, which was a cheap deal for the assets offered. The Browns traded Cooper for two fifth-round picks and a sixth-round pick, restructuring his contract and making him more team-friendly.
The Dolphins gave up their 2022 first-round pick, second-round pick and fourth-round pick and settled on Hill with their fourth- and sixth-round picks in the 2023 draft. They also gave him a four-year, $120 million extension with $72.2 million guaranteed.
It’s been worth every penny so far for the Dolphins.
Hill finished last season with 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns, second in the league.
He’s off to a strong start this season, throwing for 651 yards and five touchdowns in five games.
Hill’s 130.2 yards per game and 18.1 yards per catch are elite, and he is Pro Football Focus’ top receiver (93.8).
Browns field questions on offense.
Hill and the Dolphins have one of the best offenses in the NFL, but the Browns face some serious issues on that side of the ball.
A series of injuries have changed the course of the Browns’ season, including star running back Nick Chubb suffering a knee injury in Week 2.
The Browns’ running game has yet to hit its stride due to the suspension of the four-time Pro Bowler- the , currently dealing with injury issues with quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Watson missed the Browns’ Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens with a shoulder injury.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero recently revealed that the injury was a rotator cuff contusion.
Watson’s status remains unclear for Sunday’s critical game against the San Francisco 49ers. He did not practice with the team on Monday and the Browns had Tuesday off.
