NFL Rumors: Vikings Daniel Hunter Trade Price revealed
If the Minnesota Vikings decide to reverse course and trade Daniel Hunter before the deadline, it appears they will be looking for a significant return on the Pro Bowl linebacker.
The Minnesota Vikings are a disappointing 2-4 to start the 2023 season and appear to be one of the teams that could cut a player or two at the NFL trade deadline.
With Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson out, the next most valuable asset Minnesota could trade is linebacker Daniel Hunter.
Hunter recorded eight sacks in 2023 along with 32 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, seven QB hits, two passes defensed and six forced fumbles.
There’s no doubt that several playoff contenders will want to add him to their defense.
NFL Rumors: Vikings want Daniel Hunter as first round pick
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowley (subscription required), the Vikings are not actively seeking a trade deal for Hunter.
However, there is outside interest and the team seems to know what it takes to land a linebacker from Minnesota.
“League executives who believe strongly in Hunter have said they can’t give up a first-round pick, which may be necessary,” Fowler wrote.
If the Vikings can select a player who turns 30 next October in the first round, they should heed the call.
Yes?
The question is whether there is a team willing to meet that price.
That doesn’t necessarily seem to be the case now.
So it looks like Hunter will remain a Viking as he tries to turn his season around.
Minnesota plays the 49ers on Monday Night Football this week, so going 2-5 will be tough. A trip to play the Packers would be a big sign that the team is headed in the right direction.
Green Bay isn’t doing well this season either.
If they can’t beat them, the Vikings will have a hard time digging themselves out of the hole they’ve dug themselves this year.
This can make your business more likely.
