A baby was born on the field during a game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Cleveland Browns.
Browns wide receiver David Bell said the girl born 20 minutes after kickoff was his granddaughter.
There was a different kind of excitement Sunday when a baby girl was born at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis during the Indianapolis Colts-Cleveland Browns game.
Browns wide receiver and Indianapolis native David Bell told Indiana television station WLFI that the child was his nephew.
“Her idea was to try to have a baby before the game, but I know it’s all about God’s timing,” Bell told WLFI of his grandson’s mother.
“Now that I have a new grandson, I really want to meet him when I’m back in town.”
A stadium spokesman thanked Indiana University Health Partners for assisting with the birth and extended congratulations and best wishes to the baby’s family.
“He was supposed to arrive on the 26th, but as we were crossing the street his mother went into labor,” Butler said.
“So they got here and went to the emergency room.
The Browns beat the Colts 39-38 after Cleveland’s Kareem Hunt scored in the final 19 seconds of the game.
