The Browns invited their former QB to their new home to replace Deshaun Watson.

The Browns could trade Commanders quarterback Jacoby Brissett to replace Deshaun Watson.

With Deshaun Watson’s status uncertain, the Cleveland Browns have a problem at quarterback and could bring in a familiar face to fill the void left by Jacoby Brissett.
Brissett was floated as a possible solution to the Browns’ QB conundrum in Cleveland this week. Watson left Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts after suffering a concussion.
The Browns announced Wednesday that Watson will miss the Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Rather, it serves to rehabilitate the shoulder so that it can return to its original position.
Brown’s options are limited to replacing Watson.
PJ Walker will be the starter, but has proven to be weak despite leading Cleveland to two wins.
Walker completes just 50% of his passes.
He finished with 370 yards and three interceptions.
The Chiefs plan to buy the player before the trade deadline.

Brissett currently assists Sam Howell with the Washington Commanders.
The 30-year-old QB is familiar with the Browns’ system and knows how to handle the ball after starting 11 games with Watson last season.
Brissett has 48 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in his career, including 48 starts.
Brissett was solid as Watson’s backup last season, throwing 12 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot believes a deal could be done to return Brissett to the Browns before the Oct. 31 trade deadline.

“The Browns will likely trade Jacoby Brissett away from the Chiefs before Tuesday’s deadline and should definitely try,” Cabot wrote.
“League sources told cleveland.com that the Chiefs are listening to trade offers for several players who are free agents this offseason, including running backs Montes Sweet and Chase Young, and Brissett falls into that category.”

Trading Jacoby Brissett wouldn’t cost the Browns much.

Taking Brissett won’t break the bank for the Browns.
Cleveland only had to pay Brissett for the final 11 games of the season, which equates to $1.833 million per Cabot.
The question is what price would the Chiefs ask in a trade for a backup quarterback.
It seems unlikely that Brissett will end up on Howell’s depth chart, but Washington appreciates his leadership in the locker room.
The Browns decided not to re-sign Brissett as a backup this offseason, but he’s not doing his former team any harm.

“It was great,” Brissett said in April.
“I have never thought or said anything bad about this organization, this team or the fans.
They embraced me with open arms.
… So I have no bad or negative feelings towards them.”

Even if the Browns pull off the trade this week, it will be a tall order against the Seahawks, even if Brissett knows about the offense.
That left Walker as the team’s starter for at least another week.
“Sometimes you have that kind of time to spare and sometimes you don’t.
That’s life in the big city when it comes to quarterbacks,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said.
“He will prepare as usual. Dorian (Thompson-Robinson) will prepare as usual. But P.J. Starting this week.”

Thompson-Robinson began the season as the No. 1 quarterback. 2 after thorough preparation. However, after getting the start against the Baltimore Ravens, it became clear that he wasn’t ready for a starting role.
Thompson-Robinson had three interceptions and the Browns led 28-3.
