A former Colorado State University player has accused the school of treating his son like “shit.”

Former Colorado State University quarterback Anvaun Jones criticized his alma mater for kicking his son out of the team’s end zone during apparent administrative interference during a USC game.

The elder Jones said his son Marco, a four-star recruit out of 247 from Danville, Calif., was invited to the game, but Marco and his coach were “kicked out” by staff who didn’t know who he was.
“Really liked my son @MarcoJones2025 USC Boulder 4.
“4 star LB, son of a graduate, unreal game experience, everything was salty. the father wrote in response to a video posted by Colorado’s Talon Chandler on X.

“Until they kicked Marco out of reception after the game and told him they didn’t know who he was.
Marco explained who he was and they told him he wasn’t on the list and asked him to leave.
You gave me my son and trainer from the unit and he didn’t even care that I was from Kadan.

Anvaun Jones appeared in 11 games for Colorado in 2000.

He knows the program comes with a lot of responsibility and he likes what coach Deion Sanders is building, but he said the school will lose his son’s talent as a result.
“@CUBuffsFootball I know things are busy in Boulder and all kinds of good things are happening but you treated the son of a true blue grinder and CU fan like a bushhacker.
“Sad because I think Marco will be a great fan but the fans don’t know who he is,” Jones said on Twitter.

“I’m a big supporter of @DeionSanders and love what he’s doing with the program.
I support every recruit that comes to KO.
Too bad Marco isn’t one of them.
It must have slipped through the cracks.

Responding to the writer, Jones agreed that it was not a “harmful” mistake.
“But if it is a mistake, where is my mistake?” “This is my problem,” he wrote.
In a separate tweet, Jones shared a photo of Sanders, adding that his son had the seat belt he needed.
