SNL’s Coach Prime parody missed the mark: Deion Sanders’ daughter Shelomi
On the season 49 premiere of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” sketch “Deion Sanders,” played by strongman Keenan Thompson, chatted with Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost.
“Colin, look at me.” Prime, the fake trainer, said.
“What do you think of me?
Do you think I care what you think of me?” You don’t understand that I have everything in my team. Coaching?
genius.
crime? explosive. defense? Postpone. That’s it, buddy.”
Colorado State’s Deion Sanders is a 4-star QB recruit as Scheder’s potential successor.
Live viewers laughed during the skit, but Sanders’ daughter Shelomi Sanders thought the parody was not very accurate.
“It was great,” Sanders told the Denver Post.
“But I think they got him wrong.”
He felt that part missed the point of truly depicting his father’s intentions and character.
“According to them, it’s just a ‘show’.” But he’s not like that,” Sanders said.
Despite the disagreement, Shelomie Thompson, the youngest of Deion’s five children, said Coach Prime’s performance wasn’t bad.
“I think he’s smiling.” She said.
“I think he thinks it’s funny.”
Shelomie is not only Deion’s daughter.
She was a member of the Jackson State women’s basketball team, but transferred to Colorado that same year, as did her siblings Shedeur and Shiloh, who played on the Buffalo football team with her father.
She is currently a freshman on the Colorado women’s basketball team and is known for her outstanding work ethic and authoritative personality.
The Lady Buffs look to be making waves from last year, finishing the season with 25 wins.
Their hopes for a historic season begin with the season opener.

The team started 3-0 and then cooled off.
