The FIA Bans ‘The Verstappen’
The US Grand Prix itself was a joke. The only saving grace was Carlos Sainz Jr. It was a short battle between the two.
And Fernando Alonso.
The biggest stories of the weekend were the FIA ban on Verstappen and Venus Williams’ allegations against Martin Brundle.
That’s a shame, Williams.
(Martin Brundle drove for the Williams F1 team in 1988.
If Venus Williams had known this, would she still have left Brundle?)
How do F1 drivers make sure they don’t fall victim to ‘De Verstappen’? Ask the FIA to ban it! Is it fun or reasonable?
In any case, history shows that the FIA can very well reverse what it originally banned.
In fact, instead of banning Verstappen, the FIA should allow Max Verstappen to hold sessions for other drivers on how to deal with Verstappen.
He is the only driver who made Formula 1 a little bit happier.
Well, and Daniel Ricciardo.
Ricciardo’s shoes have found another victim (Gerard Butler) and with the fantastic publicity and free publicity for Red Bull, Bernie Ecclestone may well ban the shoes if the FIA doesn’t. But before the ban goes into effect, we’d like to see Hamilton’s reaction after shooting Ricardo.
Lewis Hamilton had a great start to the race which meant the finish he was waiting for – a much needed victory.
For obvious reasons, more attention is paid to his initiative and media behavior.
In the “second” “home race” he did well to score both points.
But the FIA was wrong to invite him to the official press conference on Thursday.
There seems to be a dark side to their humor.
But not only the FIA, but the Red Bull Racing spies also had some very interesting things to say on the subject.
It was a shame not to see Max Verstappen on the podium.
In the end, not only Red Bull Racing, but also the organizers were well prepared. His unexpected stop at the booth and radio show created a lot of buzz. But despite his persistence, he could end up fourth in the Drivers’ Championship if his form and Ferrari’s problems continue.
We would also like to thank our listeners and all the Dutch fans who voted for Verstappen as “Driver of the Day”, even in the races he didn’t finish! In the end, Verstappen’s car in the parking lot brought out a virtual safety car, which helped Nico Rosberg beat Ricciardo for second.
What an irony for Ricciardo and what a blessing for Rosberg!
Fernando Alonso showed glimpses of his old form as he finished 5th, but was fortunate to face Felipe Massa.
He had to be punished.
Very typical of the FIA!
In 2017, there could be several teams with different cars, drivers and even management.
Instead, there is talk of Ron Dennis and Ross Brown leaving.
We are delighted to welcome Brown back to Formula 1.
But we don’t know who needs it – Ferrari, McLaren or Formula 1! Ferrari’s best result was Kimi Raikkonen who spun back into the pit lane.
Heading into Mexico, Rosberg could win the drivers’ championship this weekend.
But at the same time, his points lead can be reduced to one point.
The stakes are equally high for both Mercedes drivers, but while Hamilton has been there several times before, this is Rosberg’s second appearance (the first was in 2014).
So he followed in the American doctor’s footsteps with “Living on a Prayer.” But if all goes well this weekend, he’ll be able to sing “We’re the Champions.” Ecclestone’s take on Rosberg was pretty harsh, but can we expect anything better?
We rely on teams, broadcasters and podcasters like us to promote our sport.
In the end, despite the battle between Hamilton and Rosberg, Sergio Perez will be the most entertaining driver on the Mexican grid.
Change!
