Deion Sanders calls out NCAA for Rose Bowl theft.

The first coach wants the university organization to be held accountable for the lack of safety

Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders used this weekend’s Rose Bowl as an opportunity to speak directly to the NCAA.

The Hall of Fame opened its weekly news conference Tuesday by taking a look at the Pasadena robbery. He expressed concern about the lack of insurance and protection from a player’s perspective.

“Last week my children were robbed during a game.
“I think it’s stupid,” Sanders said.
“I expect the NCAA to do something about it. These are students.
I’m sure they don’t think about insurance at this point in their lives.”

He continued, “This is a bowl of roses. They say it’s the “granddaddy of them all,” right?
I’m sure my grandfather has money.
My grandfather must have money to give to these children.”

Sanders again addressed the NCAA directly.
He also made his tone more personal.
“I hope the NCAA can do something about it.
What do you do with everything else? Please do something.
When you do something with kids…
NCAA, you’re doing something different… Do something about it.”

Coach Prime said the UCLA locker room was also broken into during the game. He also said that nothing personal was taken from him.

Buffs Beat was notified of the incident via email by Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris, who said, “The investigation is in its early stages and is ongoing.” Neither PPD nor UCLA Athletics offered anything else. Chip Kelly said he feels “horrible” for Sanders and the Buffs.

Colorado took on No. 16 Oregon on Saturday night.
ESPN starts at 10 p.m.
