Mercedes ‘found a solution’ – return of tech guru James Allison ‘gone down well with Lewis Hamilton’
David Croft from Sky reported that the role of Mercedes by James Allison thanked Lewis Hamilton.
The new layer was brought to W14 and will be re -operated by the Grand F1 Sao Paulo prize in Brazil this weekend.
It added a glimmer of optimism to Mercedes’ last F1 win a year ago through George Russell and gave them hope for 2024.
The departure of technical director Mike Elliott from Mercedes earlier this week (with Allison set to take over) is another sign of a drastic change in thinking next season.
Allison has regularly been lauded as one of the brightest minds in Formula 1.
Crofty explained why Mercedes are optimistic with their recent development: “It’s not so much a car that can catch Red Bull.
Until we test in Bahrain at the end of February, no team will know if they have it.
“It is a chassis and an Aero that the direction is good, and the technical department is completely aligned to cooperate with each other.
“I think it’s good that James Allison has been away for a bit at the start of the season and has shown a lot of interest in coming back after replacing Mike Elliott as technical director before he left.
With Lewis Hamilton.
“The team has more confidence that they know where the problem is and how to fix it.
“Lewis used to say, ‘The sooner you can identify a problem, the sooner you can find a solution.’
