Mitch Marner blunder results in Sabres shorthanded goal
One of the best defensive players on the team is without a doubt Mitch Marner, the franchise winger for the Maple Leafs. His body of work is evident both during and after the penalty kill. But on Saturday, there was a play, and he probably wishes he could go back.
In the second period of the Leafs’ Hockey Night in Canada match against Buffalo, the Leafs were down 1-1 and on the power play. The plan was for the Leafs to push play into the offensive zone and get the game-winning goal with the puck on Marner’s stick. Sadly, forward Tage Thompson of the Sabres had other ideas.
Tonight, Marner’s blooper reel took a slight turn for the worse.
