Former Steelers and Raiders wide receiver Martavis Bryant is trying to make an NFL comeback, and it looks like the Cowboys are willing to give him a look. According to Dianna Russin of The Athletic, Dallas will take Bryant to practice on Tuesday after commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated the cut, who has not played since 2018.
Bryant was suspended multiple times during his NFL career for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, including the entire 2016 season. His restoration will take place after about five years, because he received an “indefinite” suspension for violating the terms of your previous reinstatement.
Bryant played in 44 games over four seasons from 2014 to 2018, including three with Pittsburgh and one with the then-Oakland Raiders. After being suspended in 2017, he spent a year with the Steelers before landing with the Raiders in 2018.
During Bryant’s time in Pittsburgh, he totaled 145 receptions for 2,183 yards and 17 touchdowns. The former Clemson tight end’s two best seasons came in his rookie and sophomore seasons, when he was selected in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Bryant caught 26 passes for 549 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games, then had 50 receptions for 765 yards and six scores as a sophomore.
