SAD NEWS: star player Misses Maple Leafs Practice Due to ‘Clean Hit To The Head’ Taken From Canucks’ Dakota Joshua

The Maple Leafs star player misses practice after receiving a “clean hit to the head” from Canucks’ Dakota Joshua. It is sad news for the team.

According to Keefe, the forward will be okay, but he was clearly upset about the hit that received no punishment from the NHL.

Prior to the Toronto Maple Leafs’ departure to Stockholm, Sweden for two games as part of the 2023 NHL Global Series, forward David Kampf was absent from practice on Monday. However, it is anticipated that he will not miss any game time.

“He only needs to wait for the swelling to subside from his face after the hit to his head.”

During Toronto’s 5-2 victory on Saturday, Keefe mentioned a hit by Vancouver Canucks forward Dakota Joshua on Kampf in the first period.

Following the collision, Mark Giordano of the Maple Leafs quickly came to Kampf’s aid, resulting in a prolonged physical altercation between him and Joshua.

Giordano was handed an extra two minutes and a 10-minute misconduct for his involvement in the hit.

Keefe’s wording of the hit suggests that the Maple Leafs head coach viewed it as a dirty hit. Dakota was not disciplined by the league for the hit on Kampf.

Later in the game, Kampf scored his first goal, and the fourth line had an impressive performance with Bobby McMann making his season debut and earning two assists. Noah Gregor also had a goal and an assist, while Ryan Reaves sat out as a healthy scratch for the first time this season.
